Peter Belisi's Myspace Page

Peter Belisi has got his MySpace ready. As the founder of Belisi.com, he is famous for his ties design. Look at the page, and you can see testimonials to the ties.

From Bartender to Bigshot – fashion forward designer learns from the Palm Beach elite Bartending in Palm Beach, Peter Belisi served the trendsetters who embodied the luxury lifestyle he craved.

Struggling to support his family with no savings, Belisi started his own company with a novel idea. Emulating his high-end clientele, Belisi invested any extra money in a tie collection.

Belisi took pride in never wearing the same tie twice, and through his appreciation of fine ties, an idea took shape. Belisi—a name already synonymous with beauty—has earned a loyal following for its high-end, quality ties, and most recently scarves and handbags. When you think of tie, you think of Belisi.

Belisi’s guiding principle is to create Luxury with Meaning. In other words, Belisi stands for good living: great style, quality accessories and giving back to the community.

“Belisi unites the luxury and prestige of Palm Beach with Italian beauty and sophistication. Inside Belisi we cultivate a passion for exquisite materials and skilled craftsmanship. Each dramatic detail, represents our unwavering quest to fashion products of truly enduring value.” – Peter Belisi

Belisi would love to meet:
Jesus, mother teresa, nelson mandela, john wesley, bill clinton, cs lewis, ronald reagan, oprah, moses, warren buffett, richard branson, daniel, steve jobs, stephen speilberg, paul, bob coy, ralph lauren, sean combs, alan greenspan, bob marley, rick warren, donald miller, franklin graham, david, robert rubin, alexander hamilton, george patton, tom cruise, shane claiborne, jim rogers, jerry garcia, bono, adam smith, dan marino, shaq, d-wade, tiger woods, jack nicholson, al pacino, johnny cash, angelina jolie.

BuzzBadge To KeywordDiscovery

Though Yahoo's Overture Keyword Selector tool is not dead yet, I have since started to find replacements, and hopefully one that can outperform Yahoo in terms of suggesting good and relevant keywords.

In this test, I am trying to create a niche around "dog". I want to see how I can narrow "dog" down to focus on one topic within "dog". So I did a search with Overture Keyword Tool, WordTracker's Free Keyword and Keyword Discovery's Free Keyword tool. Please take note that what I am using is free. You do not have to pay to get them.

It appears to me that KeywordDiscovery's tool hints more about what niche I can focus on. Here are the results:

With Overture:

990279 dog
609130 snoop dog
276523 dog pile
125609 dog breed
123699 dog breeders
113288 dog training
111746 dog for sale
98338 dog boarding
94560 dog kennel
93765 dog grooming

With WordTracker
SearchesKeyword
300,960total searches
98957dogs
62698dog
23844dogs for sale
10063dog breeds
6682dog names
5530dog the bounty hunter
5343dog kennel
3405reindeer dogs
3075who let the dogs out
2716duane dog chapman

With KeywordDiscovery
Search Term Total
dog 1727003
dog training 1463802
dog breeds 1071259
dog health 898184
dog food 638074
dog beds 607010
dog supplies 559459
dog door 539508
dog treats 526689
dog sex 456858

Three of them gave different results, and using all of them really builds me a long list of keywords. However, it seems like if you are trying to decide on a niche, KeywordDiscovery is better. From the results, I can easily decide if I want to do dog training, or dog supplies.

So, KeywordDiscovery won my test of choosing a niche within a niche! BuzzBadge to KeywordDiscovery.

This does not hint others are bad though. All of them are important tools. I suggest you to use all of them and cross check each other.

The Best Way To Increase Link Popularity

USWeb, the operator of Blogitive, made a post about link popularity.

In the article, it talks about:

  1. On-site and Off-site factors
  2. Why Page Rank is not taking so much weight now
  3. The quality of the link you get
  4. On-page Seo factors
  5. Link exchange and link baiting
  6. Getting links through blogs, obviously, by using Blogitive.
I guess Blogitive has really helped many clients obtain their desired link popularity. If not, the service will not be around for so long. In total, I have made near to $300 from Blogitive since I joined last year end. If I have more blogs, the earning can be more.

If you have not joined Blogitive, try it. If you need more links or want to create a buzz throughout the blogosphere, advertise with Blogitive.

Yahoo removing Overture Keyword Tool?

I received an email from Perry Marshall, the author of Definitive Guide To Google Adwords, saying that Yahoo is thinking of removing Overture Keyword Selector tool.

It make sense if they are angry that people use it to build keyword list but turn out to advertise on Google. That can be the main reason they punch back.

But this punch can hurt them. Google is already that big, and I don't think it will be shook at all with that move.

In addition to that, suppose Yahoo really removes the overture keyword tool, there are thousands of services waiting to take over the stage. Everyone can always benefit from providing a keyword tool that gets so much traffic.

One of such substitutes is WordTracker's Free Keywords selection tool.

A search on the keyword "dog" shows:

98957dogs
62698dog
23844dogs for sale
10063dog breeds
6682dog names
5530dog the bounty hunter
5343dog kennel
3405reindeer dogs
3075who let the dogs out
plus a list of...well, I guess, about 100 keywords. They are cumulative count for 90 days.

If you are not using keywords on your blog yet, and unless you are already doing very well, keywords can rank your blog higher in search engines, thus giving you more traffic.

Today's BuzzBadge goes to WordTracker Free Keyword.

Update: KeywordDiscovery has also followed up with a kick, another reliable keyword research tool, to replace Yahoo.

Heh, Yahoo has been replaced once, by Google, and now another?

BuzzBage to TutorialBlog.Org

Today's BuzzBadge is awarded to TutorialBlog.org. Tutorial blog, as the name suggests, contains many tutorials. One that I like very much is "How To Create Software Box Using Photoshop".

I found TutorialBlog while trying to find how to create software boxes using either photoshop or illustrator. Both of them requires special knowledge to create wonders.

I thought it was hard, after reading through 20+ tutorials about photoshop and illustrator, I started to understand how photoshop and illustrator works.

Yesterday, my uncle showed me how to create ebook cover using photoshop. It is that easy! He did the whole ebook in less than 5 minutes! But bear in mind he is one of the top designers in my country, currently handling mega-projects in China.

Well, I did wandered off a bit... Now back to the buzz.

Tutorial blog has almost all you want to look for, though I find it leans more towards graphic design. If you have something in mind, try to search tutorialblog first. They might already provided it for you.

Another one I like is "100 Ajax Tutorials". Old technology, new trick, Ajax is hot now.

There is also this "30 Color Scheme Tools and Websites" for webmasters and designers.

Use Headline To Link Bait

Link baiting has gone more and more popular. Instead of asking for link exchange, we have found that creating good stuff for the purpose of link baiting works better.

In order to carry out successful link-baiting campaign, other than content, the title usually plays the most important part.

Title
Title determines whether a piece is read or not. It also injects the chemical to draw links. CopyBlogger has 10 surefire headline formulas that work:

  1. Who Else Wants _______?
  2. The Secret of _______
  3. Here is a Method That is Helping _______ to _______
  4. Little Known Ways to ______
  5. Get Rid of _______ Once and For All
  6. Here’s a Quick Way to _________
  7. Now You Can Have [something desirable] [great circumstance]
  8. [Do something] like [world-class example]
  9. Have a [or] Build a [blank] You Can Be Proud Of
  10. What Everybody Ought to Know About [blank]
It is just a matter of substituting what you see fit into the templates above. I have 2 to share:
1) They laughed when I ______, but when I ______...
This is adapted from an old successful headline that reads:

"They laughed when I sat at the piano, but when I started to play..."

So, it can be:

"They laughed when I tell them I blog, but when I show them my RSS subscribers..."

The "laughed" is an emotional trigger that does the magic together with the "..." at the end of the headline.

The other one that I like very much:
2) How to [solve problem] that [effect] and [effect]

The "and" does the magic. It is proven to work, so don't ask me why the "and" is the magic. If you do it without the "and", the magic will not happen. So:

"How To Write Killer Headlines That Link Baits Itself And Shoot Your Blog To Page Rank 8.5"

These are some great titles you can use on your next blog post. Good luck!

Buzzing GetAFreelancer.com

Things are changing, a lot of things have moved online. Now, service providers are getting their business online. GetAFreelancer is a freelancer website where service providers and service buyers meet.

If you want an article written, just go to GetAFreelancer.com, post and job, and people will bid for the job. You can then choose which person you want to assign the job to. You can assign to the lowest bidder, meaning to say, the person willing to get paid the less, or you can assign the job to the best provider.

How do you know they are good? GAF use a rating system akin to eBay where service buyer and service provider have to rate each other after the transaction. They also have an escrow service where your payment is sent to GAF before releasing it to the service provider.

If you want to make money online, getting freelance job is a great start. You can make a few thousands a month if you bid on big projects and work really hard. However, you do have to compete with service providers from India where they can outbid you with absurdly low prices, and still keep up with the standard, especially in IT and programming jobs.

Today's Buzzbadge goes to GetAFreelancer.com.

Buzzing Firefox Extension: Search Status

I install Google toolbar because I want to see Page Rank. But I do not install Alexa Toolbar or my firefox will have too many toolbars.

So, every time I need to check the Alexa ranking of a site, I have no choice but to go to Alexa.com and manually check it. It is a real time waster.

Now, problem solved. Firefox has an extension called Search Status to display both Google Page Rank and Alexa ranking below your firefox browser.

This really saves me a lot of hassles, and allows me to disable my Google Toolbar. I still keep google toolbar, I use it extensively when I need to do a big research on a topic. I like its highlighting feature too much.

Buzzing Adobe Illustrator Tutorial

I have always wanted to learn how to use Adobe Illustrator. It is such a wonderful program that it can create almost every image that you can produce on paper.

SmashingMegazine made a post recently with a collection of super duper Adobe Illustrator tutorials. It listed about 40 sites (rough count) that offers Adobe Illustrator tutorials plus they are the best of the best.

I am just 10% through them, and it is a big WOW! I never knew Adobe Illustrator is that powerful.

I will leave it to you to check it out. It is at SmashingMegazine. Learning all those tricks as a newbie can take me months, but I think it is worth it.

SmashingMegazine, you are dugg. At this time of writing, I see 1062 diggs.

Update: They have some photoshop tutorials as well!

Magnificent Wave

We know when a bomb explodes, we get a mushroom, grey one. The bigger the explosion, the larger the mushroom. It chokes, if you try to eat it.

Have you ever wonder water can give you a mushroom too? Found this via Digg, the mushroom is quite big. Boy, run! no wait...swim fast! (if you can)

according to Wikipedia:

"A wave is a disturbance that propagates through space or spacetime, often transferring energy. While a mechanical wave exists in a medium (which on deformation is capable of producing elastic restoring forces), waves of electromagnetic radiation (and probably gravitational radiation) can travel through vacuum, that is, without a medium. Waves travel and transfer energy from one point to another, often with little or no permanent displacement of the particles of the medium (i.e. little or no associated mass transport); instead there are oscillations around almost fixed positions."

and:

"A mushroom is an above-ground fruiting body (that is, a spore-producing structure) of a fungus having a shaft and a cap. By extension, mushroom also designates the entire fungus producing the fruiting body of such appearance, the fungus consisting of a network (called the mycelium) of filaments or hyphae. In an even broader sense, mushroom is applied to any visible fungus, or especially the fruiting body of any fungus, with the mycelium usually hidden under bark, ground, rotten wood, leaves, and other surface matter. The basidiocarp is the spore-producing structure of a "true" mushroom, while a toadstool is a basidiocarp that is poisonous to eat."
